I HATE The New Homepage
The Second Life homepage is officially shit. Like totally shit.
Ok, so call me old fashioned but I sort of liked it as it was. All these live feeds make loading times slow. Although the page loads quickly on my home connection, it can be slow on my USB dongle mobile connection. And the dashboard looks like advertising overload.
“Ok, so you’re not spending enough… here, buy some land. Here, go to XStreet and buy something completely random, here, buy a developed sim.”
Urgh and speaking of XStreet… if I thought the new Second Life homepage was bad, then XStreet is disastrous. I liked that the way it was too.
Hmm… I’m obviously just too stuck in my ways.
Excuse me while I go fetch my pipe and slippers.

I feel your pain.
I’m not one to just instantly point fingers and say “oh that’s crap” or whatever, but really, even the most basic principles of marketing and selling say that to sell things, you want a clean layout with minimal clutter, and grey and turquoise are NOT good selling colors. Slexchange (which I will always fondly remember it as) had it spot on. White layout does not distract from the main product being sold.
