Unsolicited Teleports Make Me Want to Stab Myself in the Face
Ok, maybe that’s a little excessive…
But I have blogged before on unsolicited teleports and how I find it frankly rude. In fact, in comedienne, Lauren Weyland’s 5 Questions and Shameless Plug, she mentions detesting unsolicted teleports. In fact, is it not just common knowledge that they’re downright annoying?
Since I logged into world half an hour ago I have had three from three different individuals on my list, two of them accompanied with the message “Come vote for me…” or something similar on the drop down box. Now call me miserable, but if you can’t be bothered opening your IM box to ask me personally to come and vote for you, why would I go out of my way to do you a favour?
Simply, I wouldn’t.
You wouldn’t dream of turning up on a real life friend’s doorstep and, regardless of what they are doing on wearing, dragging them out of their house, bundling them into a car and taking them to a nightclub would you? (If the answer to that is ‘yes I would,’ then that explains why you have no friends left). So let’s have the same courtesy in Second Life, people!

I can’t stand the random TP. There are 2 people in SL that I will ever accept them from – my best friend and my boyfriend. That’s IT. How hard is it to IM and say “Hey, do you have a second to come here?” It’s just bad manners to think you’re so important, people will come to you just because you send them a TP.
