Machinima Randomness…

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Not the chirpiest, but I just spent an hour messing about with video editing software so it’s going up anyway ;-)

Endings from Josue Habana on Vimeo.

The music, by the way, is Simon And Garfunkel’s ‘Bookends.’

Ok, ok… I will compensate for the absolute not remotely amusing video by posting something about naked avatars wearing bling tomorrow (or something similar)!

Josue’s Maracas!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

I stopped picking up random full perms crap after about 6 months in game. I became way too “cool” for such bollocks and  instead turned my attention to paying too much for non-full perms items that weren’t anywhere near as much fun. That’s how you can tell when you transition from newbie, I am told…. when you start spending too much and getting less fun out of your inventory.

However, recently I have started picking up random full perms crap again. Perhaps I’m having an SL-old age crisis? But anyway…. I spent an hour with a complete random newbie last weekend and ended up with some of my new favourite random stuff in world.

Wanna see my maracas???? ;-)

Maracas are made by Gonzo Shan and I have a copy full perms in my inventory. IM me if you want to be as completely cool and sexy as I look in that video.

Yes, I know… I’m impossible to resist when I shake my hips in such a manner. Calm down, ladies.

Random Linden Gets New Job. So What?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

The blogosphere is full today with talk of former Linden Lab CFO, John Zdanowski (Zee Linden), who left LL back in March this year. And why is the blogosphere full of such talk? Well, because it seems he is now working for the company behind Blue Mars.

Ok, fine. If that’s newsworthy, so is this:-

Pie Man Relocated to New Pie Shop

Manchester based snack shop worker, Mister Pie, has shocked the world today in announcing that he will be moving from his full time post with Gregg’s the bakers to join rival pie firm, Hampsons. This shock move comes after Mister Pie expressed his dissatisfaction publicly at the way in which Greggs handles its meat and potato pies. In an interview with the Daily WhoGivesAShit back in March, he was quoted as saying, “The ovens are simply too far away from the heated display shelves. It means that even the quickest pie-to-shelf-transfer-executive has the pies outside of a heated environment for 3.29 seconds. It’s just too long and the quality of the pies is being compromised.”

The 3.29 second scandal reached every corner of the globe, with US President, Barack Obama taking time out of a crucial global peace meeting to respond to Mr. Pie’s complaints, commenting that,

“Pies that even marginally colder than their optimum temperature are a direct threat to the Western world and to our aspirations of peace. We will deal with this. And we will deal with it mercilessly.”

However, Mr. Obama’s assurances never came to fruition and yesterday, Mr.Pie announced his new role at Hampsons, telling the media,

“The pies here are better for the people.”

The media frenzy will undoubtedly continue and Pixel Scoop will keep you posted.

Coulrophobia – Second Life Machinima

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

It’s Sunday. Sunday means time dedicated to my beloved Second Life blog and random machinima. Ok, so I don’t machinima every Sunday. I am far too lazy for that. But today I did.

I bought a costume around Halloween time which was an evil clown time costume. The creator was Cutea Benelli and the avatar is just awesome, so I figured I would feature that in my random videoness. The avatar is available from grim Bros here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Clematis%20Island/117/42/22/

I filmed this on Cheshire, an Alice in Wonderland Themed sim. I used only one part of the sim and the whole thing is well worth visiting. It’s one of the best places in Second Life I have come across in quite some time. Visit that here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cheshire/177/152/753

As for the music, well I downloaded that from Jamendo (Creative Commons). The song used is called ‘L’arrivée’ and was composed by Ehma. The entire album (and many other Ehma albums) can be downloaded from Jamendo. http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/94

Et voila.

A Love Story…..

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

A little different to what I usually post.

I don’t usually post MUSHY SCHTUFF.We all know I HATE the whole concept of murgh mush love schtuff and pixel pouting , schmooooooooooooooooches and all that.

But since I posted just today about how shit a (boat) driver my Skylar is, it seemed only fair to even up the score by confessing my own level of mush for the most wonderful woman who ever graced my existence with the blessing of life.

And if any of you ever hold this mush against me I will personally hunt you down and…umm… say mean things on my blog. LOL!

Muah ha ha ha!

SL-Octo Mom – A Second Life Spoof Machinima

Monday, August 31st, 2009

SLOcto Mom hit Pixel Headlines when she gave birth to Second Life’s first SLOctuplets back in January.

8 months on and Pixel Scoop sent Skylar Smythe along to see how SLOcto Mom is getting on.

Please note that no prim babies were harmed during the production of this report. Actually, that’s a lie. Let me rephrase, only 3 prim babies were harmed during the production of this report. But they’re copiable, so really it’s no big deal.

Who and what did we use for this Second Life spoof?

Pixel Scoop Reporter – Skylar Smythe
SLOcto Mom, Breda Lott – Lisa Launay
Pixel Do-Gooder, Sandra Beamont – Bubbles Komachi
Written and mediocrely machinima-ed by Josue Habana

Vampire, gangster, SLoctuplets and robot babies created by Beasil Roundfield and available by clicking here.

Filmed largely at the Missing Mile Trailer Park in Second Life, a very cool location owned by Loch Newchurch. Click here to visit in world.

Hi Josue,

Thank you! I’m a member of Second life, but up to now, have not found any use for it in my writing career.  I went to book island but there was nothing much there, and I couldn’t afford to rent a shop, being a complete newbie.

I life in the UK, and I – like many others – don’t have the opportunity to do readings in the same way that American authors do, and I think that SL would be a great place to organize something like that, if only I had the first clue as to how.

I don’t write poetry myself, but I will certainly post this on the Erotic Authors’ Association site to see if the erotic poets there are interested – I’ll also let the people on my Livejournal flist know about it, as I’m sure there are SLifers there who would be interested.

I would dearly love to arrange a reading of my erotic gay historical books, would you be able to give me any advice as to how to go around to doing that?

Thank you for letting me know about this.

The Revelation of the Century

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Skylar Smythe, Second Life resident and poet extraordinaire, wows us with her words on a regular basis!

But is there more to Miss Smythe than meets the eye?

Sorry, Sky. Couldn’t resist!!

What Happens When Avies Play Silly Drinking Games?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Once upon a time in a virtual world, an avatar named Skylar Smythe decided that she could outdrink a youthful seasoned British binge drinker.

Unfortunately, Skylar (poor Skylar) could not quite keep up.

Sleep well, Sky :)

Bob the Kitty on Linden Lab

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Here at Pixel Scoop, we were getting somewhat irate with the recent poor performance of Second Life™ and general shitty stability. However, it seemed a little unfair given just how irritated I was to shout out my opinion. It would have been very biassed and unfair. So I caught up with Bob, the coolest, calmest kitty around, find out out his take on the matters!!

Here’s what Bob had to say……

Smeko for President of Second Life™

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I truly believe that a miniature Neko Smurf is the way forward. I will let this video explain….

Neko Smurf miniature avatar created by Jenee Marten of Screwball Cartoon Avatars.

Voiced by Neko Smurf, of course!
Scripted by Josue Habana (because every Smeko needs an advisor).
Special thanks to Aeris Shenlin who coined the name ‘Smeko’ on an SLX discussion about the avatar!
